AHDB Exports hosts international DIT delegation

Food and drink experts from around the world were given an insight into UK agriculture and exports during a recent Department for International Trade (DIT) led visit.

The 20-strong DIT post holders were invited to the headquarters of the Agriculture and Horticulture Development Board (AHDB) in Stoneleigh as part of their week-long tour around the country.

The delegates, who were from markets including America, Brazil, Mexico, Russia and Canada, were given a presentation from AHDB on the organisation’s export vision across all commodities.

It underlined the messages of quality, provenance, trust, heritage and innovation. The aim was to provide delegates with knowledge about the country’s agriculture, food production and export development to help them identify opportunities where they can offer support.

AHDB’s International Market Development Director Phil Hadley said: “We were delighted to host this event and help educate our visitors on UK food production and agriculture so they can be advocates in their own countries.

“The presentations highlighted the unique selling points of our products to improve the perception held by those international representatives. It is our hope that this visit will help identify new opportunities for UK exports in the future.”
