Our Marks

Premium Meat from Quality Animals

  • The Red Tractor and the Quality Standard beef and lamb marks are quality marks that can be found on beef and lamb. The Red Tractor scheme is managed and operated by Assured Food Standards and the Quality Standard beef and lamb scheme by AHDB Beef & Lamb

  • Customers want to be sure they are buying farm assured quality meat. They can be sure if they look out for the Red Tractor logo on packs in supermarkets and the Quality Standard beef and lamb logos in independent butchers and selected supermarkets

  • All beef and lamb carrying the Quality Standard Mark and Red Tractor logo can be traced back to farms the livestock came from and you can be assured that the farmers and suppliers who produce beef and lamb for both schemes meet comprehensive standards covering hygiene, safety, environmental protection and animal welfare at every stage from farm to fork. Compliance with these strict standards is regularly checked by independent auditors

  • Both quality marks also guarantee the provenance of the meat you are buying. The flag on each logo identifies the country of origin, so if it carries the Union Flag you know it comes from a UK farm and if it carries the St George’s flag it comes specifically from an English farm

  • AHDB Beef & Lamb is the sector body for beef and lamb levy payers in England

  • AHDB Pork is the sector body for pork levy payers in England

  • Both AHDB Beef & Lamb and AHDB Pork are divisions of the Agriculture and Horticulture Development Board
